G-Wiz Partners produces a line of flight electronics for hobby and educational rocketry, as well as the Software to make best use of
them.
Our primary focus to date has been on Computers to control events during flight.
Our computers are based on inertial sensors, and therefore do not suffer any issues with Mach transition. Our product line currently consists of:
G-Wiz LCX - Replacing the LC and LCD, the LCX has both Acceleration and Barometric sensors, 3 outputs, supports multiple stages, and delayed events.
G-Wiz HCX - Replacing, and improving on the MC2, the HCX has 4 pyro outputs, can record a user supplied sensor, record to mini-SD card, and has a user configurable sample rate from 62sps to 500sps.
G-Wiz DCS - The DCS is a advanced version of the MC for our hard-core customers. It records data to CF cards, has 5 outputs, and can record up to 1000 samples per second. Also, it can measure barometric altitude to 120k’, and has 7 analog inputs for additional sensors. Truly the ultimate flight computer.
Software - All our software is free with our products. We continually improve our software, and make free updates available on-line. Latest version is 2.9
NOTE: We have discovered a bug affecting MC2 in the “ARLISS” configuration. If you have already
tried this, please contact us. If not, the bug is fixed by using the newest version of FlightView (2.7) to perform the configuration. Our apologies for the difficulty.
Firmware - Some of our newer units have field upgradable firmware. This is available on-line whenever a change is made. Latest versions: DCS: 1.7, MC2: 2.0, HCX 1.17
Accessories - We now offer A “Null Modem” adapter for the MC and a Safety Shunt with a “Remove Before Flight” banner attached!
G-Wiz MC2 and MC2 Hi-G - The MC2 is obsolete, and is no longer available. It
has been superseded by the HCX. Support is still available, however.
